Freight Train Tour
Rolls Into Town Friday, May 21

STATE COLLEGE, PA (March 4, 2010) – Alan
Jackson
, one of country music’s most popular mainstays, is once again
hitting the tracks and will bring his 2010 Freight Train Tour to Penn
State’s Bryce Jordan Center on Friday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m.
with special guests Josh Turner and Chris Young.

Alan Jackson is out in support of his new album, Freight Train, which
will be released on March 30, 2010. Throughout his career, he has now
recorded 18 studio albums and several compilations, all on the Arista
Nashville
label. More than fifty of his singles have reached Top
30 on the Billboard country charts, including 25 that reached No. 1.
He is the recipient and nominee of multiple awards, a member of the Grand
Ole Opry and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2001.

 

Jackson is also known for signing a multimillion-dollar,
multi-year contract for his sole endorsement of Ford trucks, and in 2009
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. began carrying the "Alan
Jackson Collection," which included a special release CD available exclusively
at Cracker Barrel.

 

Josh Turner will be supporting Jackson on his Freight
Train Tour, and in the process will be promoting his fifth studio album, Haywire,
which was released in February of 2010. The album’s first single,
Why Don’t We Just Dance” became Turner’s first
No. 1 hit. Overall, he has charted ten times on the Billboard
country singles charts and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2007.

 

The tour will also feature up-and-coming country artist Chris
Young
. In 2006, Young was declared the winner of USA Network’s Nashville
Star
. Afterwards, he was signed to RCA Records Nashville
and released his self-titled debut album that same year.

 

A second album, The Man I Want to Be, was released on
September 1, 2009 and includes the singles "Voices" and "Gettin'
You Home (The Black Dress Song)
,"
the latter of which has reached No. 1 on the country charts.
